The centerpiece of Allendale is Crestwood Park, a 70-acre recreational area with a 9-acre sand bottom lake, 3 sandy beaches, a bathhouse, picnic pavilion, playground, tennis courts and ball field. During the summer Crestwood Lake offers swimming lessons and hosts a swim team. Other Allendale sports organizations include ice hockey, lacrosse, soccer, cheerleading, basketball, baseball, softball and (everybody's old favorite) kickball.

Celery Farm with over one hundred acres of Open Space is a nature preserve and is very popular for walks among the Allendale residents. It's also a neat place to spot butterflies not to mention ducks, herons, and foxes.

Allendale schools include Northern Highlands Regional High School with its 50-acre campus -- ranked #1 in Bergen County by "New Jersey Monthly" magazine.

Allendale has a nice business district with a variety of shops and restaurants, the Allendale library, convenient commuting to NYC, and a great sense of community spirit.
